  1. Language classes at the Cracow University of Technology are run by the Foreign Language Centre. Every undergraduate and graduate student has the right to a course of a chosen language at an upper-intermediate or advanced level, the number of hours and semesters specified in the curriculum approved by the appropriate faculty council.
  2. Taking and successfully completing a foreign language course is mandatory.
  3. Depending on the curriculum of studies, completion of the course may require passing a compulsory examination.
  4. Students have the right to participate in additional foreign language classes on paid courses available from the commercial offer of the Foreign Language Centre.
  5. Students have the right to use the Foreign Language Centre Library and obtain access to its collection of books, other printed materials, CDs and DVDs.
  6. A student is entitled to be assisted and advised by the teacher outside the classroom during the teacher’s office hours.
  7. A student retaking a semester is not required to re-establish credit , unless the curriculum has been changed. The student is required, however, to report to the teacher and sign up for the course during the first two weeks of the semester.
  8. A student taking a semester of the course in advance of his other courses is required to obtain a promotion card from the dean’s office and the mark for the semester is documented on this card.
  9. In cases of dispute, the student may request the problem to be settled by reporting it to the Head of the Foreign Language Centre.
  10. A student declares a choice of one of four foreign languages (English, French , German, Russian) during the enrollment procedure to the University.
  11. A student is obliged to sign up for classes with a chosen foreign language group in accordance with the schedule of the group to which they have been assigned within the first two weeks of each semester.
  12. In some exceptional cases, a student may be transferred from one language group to another, provided both teachers express their consent.
  13. Attendance is mandatory. Three or more unexcused absences may result in the need to retake the semester of the course.
  14. A student may be excused from attending classes if they are able to provide one of the following language certificates:
    1. English - FCE or higher (the certificate must not be older than one year at the time of signing up for the course)
    2. French - DELF 2
    3. German - ZD 2
    4. Russian - Русский язык и коммерция

A student holding one of the certificates is not exempted from the completion of each semester in accordance with the requirements of the teacher and may be set some task to complete in order to pass (e.g. tests, projects).
1. The level of academic performance is assessed on the basis of control of educational achievement in the form of ongoing tests, projects, class attendance and participation.
